Meet Casey

Casey Dawley: Board Member and Director of Community Engagement

Casey lives in Syracuse, New York with his wife and their eight-year old son. After a two year diagnostic journey, his son was finally genetic tested, indicating a disease-causing CACNA1A variant. This led to a year with many questions and very few answers. The day the CACNA1A Foundation was announced was a day of hope and joy for Casey’s family as there was finally an answer to the question: “Who is focused on this disease?”

Casey is excited to help the CACNA1A Foundation further globally expand its collaborative network of patients, families, clinicians and scientists on its mission for treatments and a cure.

Casey retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service, including four years on a multinational staff at a NATO Command Headquarters. He holds a B.S. in both Computer Science and Management in Information Systems. Most recently, Casey worked as a contractor for the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) Office of Financial Management and their NIH Business Systems.
